Manitowish Waters Area Hiking Trails

Manitowish Waters Trail - Travel along Hwy W and spend time at Rest Lake and Koller Parks and Rest Lake Dam (restroom facilities at the parks not available in theHiking trails in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin winter). Riders will find restrooms, water, benches and a playground at the Manitowish Waters Community Center.This trail links the Community Center grounds at USH 51 & Airport Road to the trails of the North Lakeland Discovery Center.(Click on the trail map for a printable map PDF 157KB.)

Length: 2.5 miles.
Location:Parking available at the Manitowish Waters Community Center or the North Lakeland Discovery Center.


North Lakeland Discovery Center - serene and secluded biking/hiking/skiing trails around Statehouse Lake and along the Manitowish River. Easy/beginner and intermediate loops wind through new growth and old forest, and along bog andHiking trails in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin shoreline. The recently dedicated Bill Lambrecht Interpretive Trail is also open for exploration. Parking, trail info and warming house at the Discovery Center. Length: 11.5 miles (19K).
Location: From the intersection of Hwy 51 & Hwy W in Manitowish Waters, continue north on Hwy W approximately 1.5 miles to the North Lakeland Discovery Center.


Powell Trails - Passing by Spring Pond and Sherman Lake, this scenic easy/beginnerHiking trails in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin trail winds through an area logged off some years ago as well as through an area of older timber types.  Groomed by the North Lakeland Discovery Center with equipment specific for the trail. Leashed pets allowed on this trail when there is no snow. (Click on the trail map for a printable map PDF 143KB.)

Length: Trail loops range in length from 1.5, 2.0, 4.5 and 7 miles.
Location:  From Manitowish Waters, turn west onto Powell Road (1/4 mile south of the Community Center) and follow 6.5 miles to the parking area.
